FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW TO USE

LiLash should be applied once daily on clean, dry skin. Wipe excess serum from the brush on the inside of the tube and apply the product directly on the skin along the lash line of the upper eyelid, similar to liquid eyeliner. Each time you apply, alternate the direction of the stroke from the inner lid to the outer. More serum does not mean more lashes; it means more chance of irritation. Do not apply onto your lower eyelashes. We recommend first time users to apply LiLash serum every other day for the first week. It is normal to get redness/pinkness to the eyelid when first used. If you have slightly drier eyes, the use of eye drops may help. Once introduced to the skin start using daily for 6 – 8 weeks. Wait 2-3 minutes before using your other cosmetics on your eyes!

How to apply

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

Results will be seen in 4-6 weeks, with ultimate results at 12 weeks. Once your initial tube has run out, give your eyes a 1-2 week break before starting the next tube. Once lashes are at their desired length, reduce usage down to between 1- 3 times per week will maintain the condition and length of the lashes.

ARE MY RESULTS PERMANENT?

Continued use is necessary to maintain results. If discontinued, your eyelashes will gradually return to their normal growth cycle and eventually return to their length before use. A 1-2 week break is recommended between treatments to allow your hair follicles to rest and re-stagger their growth pattern.

CAN I USE LILASH ON MY LOWER EYELID?

It is recommended that you only apply LiLash to your upper eyelid. When applied correctly, LiLash will gently travel to the lower lashes when you blink.

WILL I EXPERIENCE ANY SENSITIVITY?

While sensitivity is rare, there is a ‘phase in’ period whenever you introduce a new beauty product. Few users may experience mild irritation, dryness or redness when first using LiLash however, most sensitivity is found only with initial use. Also, be sure that as you remove the applicator from the tube to carefully wipe any excess serum on the inside of the tube. Often, sensitivities occur with the use of too much product per application. If irritation occurs, we recommend using the product 2-3 times a week for the first week. Then continue use of the product as directed. If severe irritation or redness occurs discontinue use of the product.

I WEAR LASH EXTENSION. CAN I STILL USE LILASH?

Yes! LiLash is the perfect compliment to lash extensions. We know you love your extensions. Sometimes you just don’t want to give them up. What you don’t love is all the natural lash breakage. No lashes are no fun. With Lilash your follicles are conditioned to the extreme and real lashes will be stronger. Just like magic! Many extension wearers who use Lilash report much less lash breakage as well as better eyelash extension support. So go ahead and enjoy your fake lashes while still keeping your real ones with Lilash!

CAN I USE LILASH WHILE PREGNANT OR BREASTFEEDING?

LiLash has not been tested in all situations. Therefore, we do not recommend using the product while pregnant or breastfeeding.

CAN I USE LILASH WHILE UNDERGOING CHEMOTHERAPY?

We recommend using LiLash after the completion of all chemotherapy. Many people turn to LiLash and LiBrow to help restore their lashes and brows after their treatment is finished.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I STOP USING LILASH?

Continued use is necessary to maintain results. If discontinued, eyelashes will follow their normal life cycle and will eventually return to their original length before use.

DO YOU TEST ON ANIMALS?

We NEVER test on animals.

DOES LILASH CONTAIN PARABENS?

No. LiLash is formulated to be paraben free.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Is there any DOWN TIME after our Microdermabrasion treatment?

There is no DOWN TIME after our treatment.

Who can benefit from Microdermabrasion?

Clients with fine facial lines or wrinkles, age spots, sun damage, uneven pigmentation, clogged pores, skin texture problems, and minor scarring are good candidates for microdermabrasion.
Clients with rosacea or acne may also benefit from microdermabrasion treatments.

How often should I have Microdermabrasion treatment for best results?

We usually recommend beginning with a series of 6 Microdermabrasion treatments fornightly for best results. Thereafter, one Microdermabrasion treatment may be scheduled every month in order to maintain the results achieved.
Alternatively Microdermabrasion can be performed as a “one-off” treatment prior to a special occasion or as a pick-me-up for the skin.

Is Microdermabrasion treatment suitable for dark skin?

Our Microdermabasion treatment is suitable for all Fitzpatrick's skin (pale to very dark).

Are there any side effects?

Skin redness may occur for a short period after the treatment session - this is normal and will not persist in the long-term (lasting no more than a few hours).

Skin sensitivity might be increased after treatment which is normal and should subside in a matter of hours.

Are there any Microdermabrasion contraindications?

Contraindication For Micro

We will not perform Microdermabrasion treatment on individuals who are on Accutane/Roaccutane medication (it needs to be ceased at least six months, preferably a year prior to receiving Microdermabrasion). Clients may be refused service if he/she suffers from any of the following: skin cancer, uncontrolled diabetes, active herpes simplex (cold sores), dermatitis, eczema, active acne breakouts or open lesions.

Also, Microdermabrasion treatment CANNOT be performed on sunburnt skin so avoid the sun in the week before your Microdermabrasion appointment.

There are certain conditions to be aware of:

Conditions To Be Aware For Micro

Can Microdermabrasion treatment be performed on active acne breakouts?

Microdermabrasion should not be performed on active acne breakouts, as it can spread bacteria and may aggravate the condition. You will need to clear your acne first before utilising Microdermabrasion to minimise pore size and acne scarring and maintain healthy skin.

What should I do/avoid before my Microdermabrasion treatment?

Avoid facial treatments in the week before your Microdermabrasion appointment. Microdermabrasion works by peeling away a layer of dead skin, therefore, any treatments that leave your skin more sensitive can lead to discomfort or other complications. Other treatments to avoid: facial waxing/threading; electrolysis; laser treatments; chemical peels; botox and injectables.

The use of exfoliating creams and topical acne medication needs to be ceased 3 days prior to your Microdermabrasion treatment. Most topical medications use acids to peel away outer layers of skin, therefore leaving skin more sensitive, leading to potential discomfort.

How should I take care of my skin after Microdermabrasion treatment?

Avoid heat treatments, hot baths, and all perfumed products for 48 hours after your Microdermabrasion treatment.

Avoid wearing any makeup for at least 24 hours after your Microdermabrasion treatment (with the exception of our Jane Iredale mineral makeup which can be used right after treatment).

Avoid any types of exfoliants for 3 days after Microdermabrasion treatment.

In between treatments, please avoid excessive sun exposure. It is essential to use a broad spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen in the case of exposure to UV radiation. Sun tanning can result in irregular pigmentation occuring in the treated area.

IPL Hair Reduction

Our equipment is designed & made in France by the world's leading producer of medical IPL.

            Bto C Leaflet _Page _1_Image _0006

It benefits from the latest IPL technology called IRPL (Intense Regulated Pulsed Light) to ensure you a safe and comfortable treatment with long lasting results.

                                          IRPL technology

Our IPL technology targets and eliminates hair follicles responsible for hair growth without harming the surrounding tissue. Our IPL technology targets melanin in the hair root, and as long as the hair has a dark root; it can be treated. Permanent hair reduction is available for most skin types including very light & very dark skin and most hair colours. However, white hair, grey hair and red hair (pheo-melanin) cannot be treated.

The machine is used by over 40,000 operators in France and is already a household name.

There are 3 phases of hair growth & each treatment is effective on the hairs in the growing stage. In order to treat all phases of hair growth a course of treatment is necessary. A course of 6 to 8 treatments with treatment intervals every 4 to 6 weeks is recommended. Thereafter, only 1 to 2 annual top-up maintenance treatments will be required. This figure may vary, according to the demands of each client.

             Hair -growth -cycle2

In the case of a hormonal dysfunction, or the administration of certain medications which affect the hormonal system, the basic number of sessions may be increased.

CONSULTATION/PATCH-TEST (30MIN - $50)

A thorough consultation & patch test must be performed at least 48 hours to check for any adverse reactions before a full treatment will be carried out.

Redeemable upon the first IPL session.

*Note: All IPL services are not in conjunction with Spa & Wellness Gift Card redemption.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN IPL AND LASER

Both treatments produce energy in order to disrupt the growth cycle of each hair follicle to reduce hair growth without damaging the surrounding tissue. The main difference between Laser and IPL hair removal lies in the technology that each use to generate the light.

Laser machines produce a single wavelength of light which has a very concentrated beam. Laser can be more dangerous and more painful than IPL especially on darker skin and more sensitive skin types.

IPL machines produce a broad spectrum of wavelengths. IPL works on more different hair colours (blonde, brown and black). It is more gentle on skin and less invasive.

IPl vs Laser

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

How does it compare to other methods?

We can treat large areas of the body much quicker and without the pain associated with waxing and electrolysis. Waxing is painful & the hair has to be a certain length to be effective and ingrown hairs can be common. Electrolysis is a very slow, hair by hair process can be painful and cause scarring.

How do I prepare for my IPL Hair Reduction treatment?

The area to be treated must be shaved prior to the treatment as long hair obstructs the path to the follicle which is where we need to treat. Skin must also be free from any form of fake tan, moisturiser, deodorant & perfume. IPL treatments CANNOT be performed over fake tan.

Post treatment advice

Loose clothing should be worn to cover the treated areas for 24 hours following treatment to avoid unnecessary friction against the skin.

Avoid heat treatments, hot baths and all perfumed products for 24 - 48 hours after treatment

How quickly will I recover?

You can resume regular daily activities immediately following treatment.

Are there any side effects?

The most common is a mild redness that usually subsides within a few hours. Also aloe vera can be used at home to soothe.

Are there any contraindications?

We will not perform IPL Hair Reduction treatment on individuals who are on Accutane or Roaccutane medication (need to be off it at least six months, preferably a year prior to receiving IPL treatments). Clients could be refused service if he/she suffers from any of the following: skin cancer, uncontrolled diabetes, active herpes simplex (cold sores), kidney disease, heart disease, lupus disease. Moreover, IPL treatments CANNOT be performed over fake tan.

Contraindications IPL Hair

*Note: IPL Hair Reduction can only be performed on skins up to a Fitzpatrick 5 phototype (NOT for skin tone 6 as there is too greater risk of thermal injury).

Skin tone IPL Hair

In between treatments, what should I do?

If the hair re-grows it must not be removed by means of plucking, waxing or electrolysis as doing so can re-stimulate the hair follicle, often resulting in more treatments being necessary. Please shave the areas or trim if necessary.

Please avoid sunbeds and excessive sun exposure. It is essential to use a broad spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen in the case of exposure to UV radiation. Sun tanning can result in irregular pigmentation occurring in the treated areas.

You may notice the treated hairs will start to shed after 7-10 days. The shedding process can be accelerated by exfoliating the area with mild scrub.

SERIES REWARD PROGRAM

How does it work?

The firmness or ‘bounce’ of our skin is determined by the protein collagen, found in large quantities in the dermis. This collagen in stimulated by cells called fibroblasts which start to decrease as we age, leading to the formation of lines and wrinkles.

Skin Rejuvenation with IPL works by using targeted light energy to treat vessels, pigmentation and to stimulate collagen synthesis. This process stimulates the body's natural healing process and assists in removing the condition - while also promoting the production of collagen. This leaves the skin smoother and more evenly toned. For colagenesis specifically, introducing controlled heat into the skin will cause an increase in fibroblast activity, producing more collagen and elastin. This leads to textural changes including reducing in pore size and fine lines, firming and lifting, and overall improvement to the appearance of the skin. A course of treatments is required to achieve optimum results.

How many treatments are required for optimum results?

A single IPL Skin Rejuvenation Facial will boost the skin, leaving it feeling firm, toned and hydrated. However, a series of treatments will achieve noticeable improvement within the skin.

We recommend a series of 8 weekly treatments to begin so that the skin receives ongoing gentle stimulation of the fibroblast to produce more collagen.

After the initial results, monthly maintenance treatments are recommended. It is important to maintain the hydration and barrier of the skin in the days following the treatments and ideally for 2 weeks prior to initial treatment to achieve maximum results, therefore a correct Ella Baché homecare solution is crucial.

Can also be performed as a ‘one off’ treatment before a special occasion. Single treatment is recommended minimum 5 days prior to special events.

Are there any contraindications?

We will not perform IPL Skin Rejuvenation treatment on individuals who are on Accutane or Roaccutane medication (need to be off it at least six months, preferably a year prior to receiving IPL treatments). Moreover, IPL treatments CANNOT be performed over fake tan.

Contraindications IPL Skin Reju

*NoteIPL Skin Rejuvenation can only be performed on skins up to a Fitzpatrick 4 phototype as the darkest skin tone. IPL Skin Rejuvenation CANNOT be performed on skin tone 5 or 6 as there is more competing chromophore (melanin) in the epidermis, there is greater risk of thermal injury.

Skin tone IPL Skin Reju

How do I prepare for my IPL Skin Rejuvenation facial treatment?

A patch test must be performed 48 hours before the initial treatment to check for any adverse reactions before a full treatment will be carried out.

To prepare for treatment, skin must be free from any form of fake tan, moisturiser and makeup. IPL treatments CANNOT be performed over fake tan.

What happens during treatment?

The 1 hour treatment involves cleansing, light exfoliation, Intense Pulsed Light treatment of the skin. During the IPL procedure, your eyes will be covered with goggles to protect from the bright light, and you will experience a comfortable heat during each flash. Followed by the application of Intensive Extreme Regeneration Mask and serums which instantly plumps and enhances absorption of moisture to create a protective barrier that keeps skin perfectly hydrated. The treatment is very relaxing and includes a neck, shoulder and decolletage massage during the mask.

Are there any side effects?

In most cases, there is no evidence that a treatment has been performed, nor is there usually any residue any residual heat in the skin.

Skin redness may occur for a short period after the treatment session - this is normal and will not persist in the long-term (lasting no more than a few hours).

Aloe Vera gel can be used at home after the treatment to cool, soothe and promote skin healing.

Post treatment advice

Avoid heat treatments, hot baths and all perfumed products for 24 - 48 hours after treatment.

Cool treatment area with cool compress if required. Regular application of hydrating products will soothe the skin.

Avoid abrasive skin treatments, scented lotions or soaps, loofah sponges or aggressive rubbing.

In the case of sun exposure, sunscreen must be worn to avoid irregular pigmentation in the treated area.

In-between treatments, what shall I do?

Please avoid excessive sun exposure. It is essential to use a broad spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen in the case of exposure to UV radiation. Sun tanning can result in irregular pigmentation occurring in the treated area.

Avoid fruit acid peels or herbal peels during the course of treatments.

LED Light Therapy

LED stands for light emitting diode. LED light therapy is a non-invasive treatment. There is no heat energy or tissue damage induced by LED phototherapy, hence the treatment requires NO downtime.

Different wavelengths of LED can be used for to target various skin conditions from acne to ageing skin. Each wavelength will penetrate a different depth and cause a different effect within the skin.

What machine do we use?

There are numerous LED machines currently available on the market, and there can be significant differences between the light emitted and the quality of the light between each machine. LED technology as we know it has been around for over 50 years. Even though it has proven efficacy on cell stimulation, it has not been improved much since its creation.
Until now! That is why we have chosen Tuenda! Thanks to its partnership with the renowned Bologna University, Tuenda has worked closely with their Research & Development department to improve the efficacy of LED treatments and develop a device, called KEEP, that goes beyond traditional LED treatments. With a total of 480 LEDs carefully selected, KEEP provides a unique light patented module producing three different wavelengths from one single machine: red, blue and infrared.

                                      LED machine

What is LED Light Therapy used for?

LED Light Therapy can be used for a number of skin conditions. The red light is a visible light and is most effective for use on the surface of the skin. It is used for skin rejuvenation, to reduce inflammation and to improve healing, for example post-laser treatment.
Infrared light is invisible to the naked eye and is also effective for use on the surface of the skin. The wavelength infrared puts out is longer than the wavelength of the red light, allowing the infrared to penetrate more deeply. Infrared is usually used in conjunction with red light to promote deeper anti-ageing effects.
Blue light has been proven to have powerful anti-bacterial properties. It is mainly used to treat acne skin. Red and blue light can be used synergistically to treat active acne with the blue light helping to reduce bacteria counts and the red light helping to heal the skin.

How does LED Light Therapy work to stimulate anti-ageing and skin rejuvenation?

The light energy is absorbed by the skin and is converted into ATP which is the fuel that the cell uses to do its job. The fibroblast cells in the dermis layer have the job of producing collagen (which gives the skin fullness or that plumped look) & elastin (which gives the skin the ability to bounce back). Thus, LED gives the cells a ‘full tank of fuel’ and stimulates the fibroblast cells to produce more collagen and elastin. The result is a complexion plumped up with new collagen (which pushes the folds of the wrinkles out) & new elastin (which helps to tighten the skin and give it more elasticity).

                                     Red Light

How does LED Light Therapy benefit acne conditions?

Blue light LED works by killing the bacteria deep in the skin that is responsible for Acne. This light is tuned to activate chemicals known as Porphyrins, produced by acne bacteria P.acnes. Activation of the porphyrins in turn destroys the bacteria. Red light is also used to treat acne as it stimulates collagen production, which assists in the reduction of scarring and repairing of the skin.

                                       Blue Light

What other conditions can LED Light Therapy help with?

Red light promotes the healing of the skin and so can be used effectively for many skin problems including reducing inflammation, rosacea, burns, acne scarring, eczema and psoriasis.

Who can benefit from LED Light Therapy?

Everyone! This treatment is beneficial and effective for both men and women of all ages and skin types. LED Light Therapy is not only effective but is one of the safest and most affordable ways to achieve more even, younger-looking skin. Everyone now has the opportunity to choose a totally non-invasive treatment, without any contact and recovery time, and with maximum hygiene and safety.
LED Light Therapy is often recommended immediately following alternative treatments such as Skin Needling, Injectables, Chemical Peels, Laser/IPL treatments and Microdermabrasion to both enhance the results and/or reduce swelling and redness.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How quickly can I recover?

There is NO downtime to LED Light Therapy treatment so you can resume your daily activities immediately following treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

This depends upon your individual needs and what outcome you desire. Our therapists will advise you on how many treatments may be suitable for your particular needs. A total of 8 sessions over 6 weeks are recommended for optimum results.
LED Light Therapy can be performed as a stand alone treatment or in conjunction with your prescribed facial treatment.

What happens during treatment?

Your face will be cleansed to remove any makeup or skincare products. Safety eyewear will be provided to you during treatment sessions, as the light will be positioned close to your face. The treatment is painless and will last for approximately 20 minutes during which you can simply lie back and relax.

Pre-treatment requirement

The skin on the face to be treated should be free from infection and any open wounds or sores. If you are experiencing any such skin condition please advise your therapist prior to any treatment.

Post-treatment requirement

Due to the non-invasive nature of the treatment, there is only very a low risk of side effects and hence there are no post treatment requirements. If, however, the treatment was conducted immediately after another treatment such as a Chemical Peel, Skin Needling, Injectables, IPL/Laser or Microdermabrasion then the particular after-care instructions for those treatments must still be followed.

Spray Tan

How to prep for tan

AFTER CARE ADVICE

  •  During the development period, avoid wearing closed in shoes or tight clothing (including bra & socks). Avoid any physical activities or excess perspiration. Do not allow your skin to get wet. Do not touch your skin & avoid physical contact.

Avoid during tan develops

  • Avoid sitting on leather & light coloured materials as these can stain permanently. Always cover fabrics before sitting on them.
  • Allow 3-5 hours after a salon spray tan or 6-8 hours for a home tan application before showering. You will probably see some colour wash off when you take a shower. Do not be alarmed if you’re not as tanned as you expect to be, the tan will continue to develop even after the shower. Have a quick rinse without soap & apply moisturiser straight after your shower.

HOW TO PROLONG YOUR TAN

  • Keep skin well moisturised as this will increase the longevity of the tan as well as ensuring that it fades evenly and doesn’t become patchy. Use Ella Baché Water Source Cream for very dry skin or Refreshing Earth Body Lotion for normal skin.

Water source vs Refreshing Earth

  • Keep your tan glowing for longer by alternating between moisturiser and Ella Baché Great Sunkiss.
  • Soaps will dry the skin causing your tan to appear patchy over time & fade more quickly. We recommend Ella Baché Floral Oil as your daily body cleanser. Pat your skin dry after a bath or shower. Rubbing your skin may rub off your tan.

Soap Vs Floral Oil

  • Avoid swimming in a pool as the chlorine can strip the colour from your skin.
  • Make sure you are still using a sunscreen when outdoors as a fake tan does not give any protection from the sun. We recommend using Ella Baché Facesaver SPF 50+ for the face and Sportsbloc SPF 50+ for the body.
